First, look around your local area; there are many “hidden gems” right in your backyard, and if it is a smaller beach, that doesn’t have a big name tied to it you will be able to surf at a premier spot, without all the crowds. Also, check travel guides and magazines for tips, there are so many secluded beaches for locals trying to get away from tourists, you must must know where to look. Lastly, if you are from out of town, ask the locals. They will know where to go to get away from the crowds, and still find the best waves out there.
